The plan being keep it short and sweet and online and maybe he could have gotten Aubrey a beginning date with someone he knew would treat the guy nice. Then he would slowly introduce him to girls who were more active daters. Really, he knew that Aubrey wasn't new to the whole dating thing, but he had the feeling that he wasn't quite ready for the kind of dating most girls Derek knew were into.
He was beginning to regret asking Regina though. While he'd been able to put his own feelings aside to help out a friend, he still wasn't all too sure about what Regina thought about this whole... situation. And now the plan lay in ruins and he was pretty sure he was in for a repeat of the whole tricking Ky and Regina into a date together thing.
Boy hadn't that been fun.
Running a hand through his hair again, he walked into the campus cafe, glanced around briefly, and found Regina all too easily. He'd gotten used to searching her out in a crowd, after all. Putting a casual smile on his face, he approached her and prayed that he'd get through this without babbling out anymore of his personal feelings.
At the pace Regina was able to get things out of him, he'd end up asking her to marry him before their first date.
<font color="#5b0101">Derek ran a hand through his bangs, a nervous habit possibly, but given the company he was with and the situation that'd landed them like this, he was allowed to be a little nervous. Kane had, as always, been as unsubtle as a bull in a china shop and Ky. Well, Ky had been Ky, but either way, it was thanks to them that Derek was now walking Regina back to her dorm room.
... Wait, shit, did that mean he was obvious? Yeah, he liked Regina, but he also thought he'd been doing a damn good job keeping it on the down low. He didn't need hell from his friends for 'picking just one' and he didn't want to mess up whatever friendship he had with Regina. He could be the good friend with Regina. He was totally cool with that.
